Castle Woerden

Historic architecture meets modern lighting control.

Castle Woerden is a centuries-old fortress reimagined as a venue for events, dining and business gatherings. We designed the lighting system to enhance the historical interior while offering the flexibility needed for modern use.

The process

Respecting the character of the castle was key. The lighting concept we developed, balances functionality with ambiance, using a mix of base and atmospheric lighting throughout the space. In the vaulted halls and on the terraces, we applied custom RGBW LED lines. These allow the lighting to shift in mood or reflect brand colors for corporate events.

To simplify control across the entire venue, we implemented Casambi smart lighting. We programmed the scenes for easy use by the staff. The scenes are activated via wall-mounted display.
