De Rechtbank

Formerly the courthouse of Utrecht, this historic building now houses the boutique Court Hotel and De Rechtbank restaurant. ONN lighting brought modern versatility to the space by installing a smart lighting solution that adapts effortlessly to every event. From intimate dinners to corporate gatherings, the lighting enhances the experience while respecting the building’s rich architectural character.

The process

Given the building’s heritage, the lighting design was approached with care. Fixtures were selected to complement the interior without drawing attention away from its historical details. The result is a space where functionality, ambiance, and architecture come together through carefully considered lighting.

To deliver the desired flexibility, we implemented Casambi smart lighting throughout the interior. This system allows staff to easily adjust both the light intensity and colour temperature, ensuring the atmosphere always matches the purpose of the space: whether for meetings, private dining, or events.
