Roundabout spectacles

On a roundabout in Oss stands a public artwork formed by three oversized glasses. The installation invites people to look at the city through the eyes of Titus Brandsma. It symbolizes his values of education, journalism and faith.

The process

For this project, we were asked to deliver a custom LED solution that aligned with the technical requirements of the installation. It needed to be suitable for outdoor conditions and resistant to weather exposure.

The customized LED strip also had to fit precisely within an existing recess in the artwork, leaving no room for the use of aluminium profiles. We delivered a flexible LED solution that could be seamlessly integrated while meeting these constraints.

To add functionality, the lighting was integrated with Casambi which allows the glasses to be operated via a time schedule. This approach ensures the artwork remains clearly visible after dark.
